I got fancy and used mil-spec AN fittings for fuel; its not required A popular question I get is how do I get the AN fitting attached to the cold start valve? A dab of sealer on the threads and I’m ready to go. All you need is to attach your cold start injector to the pipe with an o-ring and some self tapping screws, tee into your fuel system no leaks now and hook the fuel injector to a pressure switch and a power source.

This is fairly easy with a vacuum gauge and would be even easier with an electric one. Drop your glove box to gain access to the hole in the firewall. You can run it where ever you want, this just seemed the easiest to me. There are two screws under the trim piece to take out, then its just clips. Pull gently and it will all come off. Be sure to unhook your lamp. This is what you are after, there is a rubber boot on the engine side, i just poked a hole in it with a knife and fed it through, this will keep it from rubbing on stuff.
Of course where and how you run the tubing will be different depending on where you are mounting your gauges, but this is how i ran mine.

I offered to evaluate one of the first units shipped and decided to take some pics of my installation, Please note that these might be used to supplement the RIX Effects instructions that came with your gauge but should not replace them. I did things in a slightly different order, I started by removing the vent assembly- it is press fit and can be removed by hand with no tools, just pull it straight out.

Dec 29, · Best Answer: Connecting the gauge to the vacuum line doesn’t measure te output of the turbocharger- it just measures the amount of engine vacuum. The gauge you have will work for measuring boost, though I would rather use a 0 to 30 PSI gauge. To hook up the gauge so it reads turbo boost is rather : Resolved.
Missouri A few weeks ago I posted about needing to locate a rebuild kit for a E because of excessive blowby, the other day we went to order a kit for it and it crossed my mind Why all of the sudden did this thing have crazy amount of blowby, truck runs and starts great no smoke no problems other than developed a lot of blowby within a couple of weeks. I thought about it and after I realized that if I took off the air tube and placed my hand over it the blowby tube would almost whip around After calling a few turbo shops to find one I asked them if they pressure checked them and the response was always NO and one of them called me crazy for believing that a turbo could cause blowby Long of the short, turbo on the ground with the exhaust down intake up, dump water in the intake and watch it run through the cartridge faster than your pouring it in Flip it over pour in exhaust and does the same thing.
Anyone else ever ran across a turbo bad enough to do this but does not smoke the stacks? Oh btw the shaft only wiggles a little not enough to trash the compressor wheel or housing etc.
